Very soon YU YUREKA owners will be able to download and install Cyanogen OS 12 update based on Android 5.0 Lollipop on their smartphones. Recently, the Micromax’s YU team has submitted its latest Cyanogen OS 12 for Yu phones to Google for approval, which should soon be rolling out after certification. According to Rahul Sharma, Co-founder and CEO of YU said in a forum post,
Wanna thank all the beta testers and everyone involved, we are now in the final phase of Lollipop release. The software has been submitted to Google for approval today, and if all goes well the rollout should happen soon.
Here is a little peek into what is going on under the hood. At YU, quality is a key focus and our partner, Cyanogen is equally committed to provide a robust software. We both work hard to ensure that the awesome new features are stable enough to provide the best user experience. However, with Lollipop it became a little more stringent and longer. Every set of errors took us back a few steps costing us few more days for the rollout.
Now in the final stage, we cannot wait ourselves to ship it fast. We will keep you posted on the update.
To keep up their promise of an Android Lollipop update for YUREKA smartphone release, YU started beta testing its CyanogenMod OS 12 ROM, and the update was first expected to roll out on March 26, the company has missed the deadline.
The company is also planned to launch YU YUPHORIA smartphone based on the same software – custom ROM based on Android Lollipop update. Hints that it will feature a 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in memory, and run on CM OS 12 based on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box.
OnePlus, which is the first partner of Cyanogen has recently announced that CyanogenMod 12S OS for OnePlus One has passed its certification, and the over the air, the Cyanogen OS CM12S (OTA) update will be rolled out in the next few days. Also said that Micromax Yu’s YUREKA smartphone will be getting the Android 5 Lollipop based CyanogenMod OS 12s very soon, and now it has get an approval.
