Apple Hikes Prices Of iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 / 7 Plus, 6S and 6S Plus

Apple has increased the prices of all iPhone models, including the iPhone X, in India after the government raised the customs duty on mobile phones from 15% to 20% in the Union Budget 2018 last week.

The hike in prices will see raise in iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S in India, but the iPhone SE price remains unchanged. In order to face the Indian government custom duty charges on mobile phones, tech giant Apple has raised prices of the iPhone line by up to Rs. 3210 across various models.

Apple has also increased the prices of Apple Watch Series by up to Rs. 2,510, according to the information available on official website. The price increase is with immediate effect, even though the duty change by the Govt will come into effect only from April 1. Only excluded from the price escalation is the iPhone SE, which is manufactured in India at a facility in Bengaluru. All other iPhones are imported into the country.

If you look forward the prices of the iPhones have been raised by almost 3%. Apple has already implemented the new prices on the iPhone models and the new prices will be applicable starting today, February 5, 2018.

In regards, Apple has also confirmed the new prices of the iPhone models and has informed retailers that the price increase would be effective starting 8 AM today. Interestingly, the duty hike announced in the Union Budget will only be applicable in India from 1st of April. Apart from the iPhone SE.

All the iPhone models starting iPhone 6S to the newly launched iPhone X will get a new price tag. Not only that, prices of Apple Watch has also been revised. Apple Watch Series 3 is now available at a starting price tag of Rs 32,380 up from the previous price of Rs 29,900.
