Samsung Pay, which is the company’s new mobile payment system to go live in the second half of this year, and the first countries to take complete advantage of the Pay service will be the United States and South Korea. More details on the Samsung Pay launch can be checked right after this jump.
According to a Korean publication report emerged, suggesting that, “the consecutive release schedule to the rest of the other countries […] in the second half of the year is still under discussion,” says Samsung Electronics’ Managing Director, Park Jin-young.
For the unknown, Samsung is already in works to bring yet another Gear smartwatch, which is apparent to have a more rounded and premium design and could integrate Samsung Pay on it. Even the company has announced that the members of global developer community can get an early access to the SDK developed for the forthcoming 7th generation Samsung smartwatch in Gear series.
Back in March, Samsung Pay was announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015). It uses near-field communications (NFC) and magnetic secure transmission (MST) tech developed by LoopPay, acquired by Samsung.
Samsung may release Samsung Pat with the launch of next-generation Gear smartwatch, which can support the new payment system altogether. Time frame will decide how and when!
