Asus Set To Launch ZenFone ‘Go’ Budget Smartphone With MediaTek SoC Soon

The Taiwanese firm Asus has already introduced multiple SKUs of its escond-generation ZenFone 2 smartphones in its series of ZenFone. Go with yet another range of more affordable segment? Yes, Asus is all set to unveil its next ZenFone variants as budget-friendly smartphones that too powered by MediaTek SoCs, instead of go-ing with Intel processors that are inside the current ZenFone 2 lineup.

With model number ZC500TG, the next new phone series will be called Asus ZenFone Go. The device is also said to have a 5.5-inch HD display and not a FullHD (1080p), and will be running on an octa-core MediaTek processors. New one with 2GB of RAM memory, also includes only 8GB of internal storage.

The yet-unannounced device from Asus go with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with its own custom UI skin on top. Not going with Snapdragon 810 chips, Asus wanna switch to MediaTek chipsets, might just be a bit that will help reduce the cost. Camera department will go with an 8MP main and a 2MP front-facing shooter.

It will not gonna support 4G LTE but will offer 3G connectivity. Why that is unknown, where its most of the ZenFone series support 4G, which could be because of its being initiated as a budget smartphone. No matter, now that we have an idea about Asus bring an affordable smartphone and expect it to official announce very soon.

Zenfone Go is still a rumor and there is no official word about it as yet, so take it with a pinch of salt when considering it. Stay tuned!
