Back at IFA 2014, Asus has announced ZenWatch wearable which claimed would hit the stores before Christmas and seems Asus has kept its word. The Android Wear-powered smartwatch from ASUS will be landing on the United Kingdom market exclusively at Currys and PC World on December 23rd. Priced at £199 (subtle $199 launch price in the USA).
Unlike the other Android Wear smartwatches, such as Sony’s SmartWatch 3, LG’s G Watch R and Motorola’s Moto 360, the ASUS ZenWatch specs goes different combining the both worlds and packs a square display with rounded edges. It got a stylish and unique look and the watch that is equipped with an awesome leather strap and have the ability to customize it further using any standard watch straps.
With the lack of availability at Best Buy, the Asus ZenWatch launch in the United States met with a series of price drops though. But in the UK, Asus won’t continue the same it happened in the US and the watch will arrive with the help of Dixons Carphone Group companies two days before Christmas. Interested customers can buy one as a Christmas gift, and for that you have to go in-store as it won’t launch in time for Christmas delivery.
The ASUS ZenWatch features a 1.63-inch AMOLED 320×320 pixels display, packs a 512MB of RAM and powered by a quad-core CPU, which it includes 4GB on board storage and forget to say, the screen on the Asus smartwatch is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the ZenWatch is IP55 water resistant, but don’t use it in the shower bath and water pool as its isn’t waterproofed one.
