Reportedly it was long been alleged that BlackBerry will not be launching any new smartphone with BlackBerry 10 software in 2016, rather focusing on introducing a couple of devices running on Google’s mobile OS “Android“, though. Now that in another commitment, BlackBerry CEO has confirmed that the Canada-based smartphone manufacturer will nevertheless continue to offer software updates for its BB 10 devices, but doesn’t specifically revealed any news regardong any launch of BlackBerry 10 device this year.
About BlackBerry 10 software updates, CEO of BlackBerry, John Chen said,
“Consumer and enterprise fans of our workhorse BlackBerry 10 smartphones such as Passport, Classic and others can look forward to many security and privacy enhancements in 2016. The coming version 10.3.3 will be certified for NIAP compliance, meaning it will have passed the strictest government-grade security tests, enabling us to further support our government and regulated customers who use BlackBerry 10 devices and demand the highest levels of security. We are also planning a version 10.3.4 for later this year with even more security improvements.”
Confirming that BlackBerry is effortlessly working on a new BlackBerry Android-based smartphone, but it’s not yet ready to share its details, and will be shown to the world when the roadmap is all-ready for public view.
