The Google’s official Android 7.0 Nougat Developer 5 is now been made available to download for compatible Nexus device. The pre-release beta comes just ahead of the final update version. What’s even better news that accompanies the availability of Android Nougat DP5 is it will be the finalized preview before an official Android 7.0 release is issued to public for supported devices.
As part of the final push to get Android 7.0 Nougat ready for an official rollout, Developer Preview 5 contains a number of improvements and additions that keeps it well and truly on the phase to launch.
The previous Developer Preview 4 brought the final Android N SDK with APIs, but didn’t bring any additional features, rather was pushed with the bug fixes and optimizations across the system and in pre-installed apps. With the release of Developer Preview, the inclusion of system images for compatible and supported Nexus devices is there, as well as slew of other preview devices that will benefit from Android 97.0.
Developers also have access to an official emulation of Android 7.0 Nougat to allow them to test and preview their own apps to ensure that they are pretty ready top provide the optimum experience and take advantage of the technologies within Android Nougat version 7.0.
Introduces the latest and final Nougat APIs at API level 24. As you would also expect from the Developer Preview 5, and certainly from one that precedes an official and final release. DP5 also introduces the latest bug fixes and system enhancements across the whole Android operating system, as part of Android 7.0 Nougat.
The fact here is given that the Android Nougat is in the final Developer Preview, which is extremely exciting for Android device owners around the world, but just how long can we all expect to wait before the final public release of Android 7.0 hits the shelves? There’s no exact timeframe from Google given on when the final version will actually drop, but based on the company’s own estimated line it could land before the end of September.
