Confirmed! It’s now imminent that Samsung will be releasing a dual-SIM version of Galaxy Note5, which was actually rumored to launch ahead of the company’s Unpacked event, is already accepting pre-orders. Galaxy Note5, the information comes from the Philippines, but we’d expect all markets to follow soon and that too not launching with a microSD card support.
The SM-G9198 has been revealed by ePrice in Taiwan as its the Galaxy Note5 Duos, showing two Nano SIM card slots, but one of which won’t be a hybrid SIM card, so that you can use it as a microSD expansion slot.
The dual SIM Note5 is meant only to be available at all, as previous generations could only be found in select countries. And the star of a photoshoot in Taiwan was an actual retail unit of the said device. Hopes with this image of a microSD-supporting Note5 appears to be gone finally, with the live images to prove it.
Rumored previously was the Galaxy Note 5 Duos, which may come with a mixed-use second SIM card slot, alternatively accept a microSD card for storage expansion. However, if it is to be accurate and real, then the device showing two regular nano-SIM cutouts in the card tray.
It has been clarified that by mistake they haven’t listed 128GB Note5, rather only explained about the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the 32GB, 64GB of Galaxy Note5. Now with the Duos branding n its back, the dual SIM Galaxy Note5 is also listed on the Samsung China, Philippines and Indonesia websites. Samsung is also accepting pre-orders for the dual variant of the smartphone in Philippines via Samsung Experience Stores between August 17 to 30th.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 5 are already ongoing but they will be officially launching on August 21. In the US, of course it will be available in the major carriers like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile but will also be on Amazon and Best Buy. Still got no word regarding the availability of dual SIM variant outside of Taiwan as yet.
