Tablet devices could take center stage for Samsung next weekend at the Mobile World Congress, where the company looks like it could take the wraps off the Galaxy Tab S3. Rumors in the case has already been circulating, ahead of MWC 2017 keynote, a newly leaked photo gives us our first look at the keyboard cover for the Galaxy Tab S3. Here’s everything you need to know.
This new render of the 9.6-inch Android tablet doesn’t reveal much about the features of the slate, nor anything about its hardware specs, but its design appears to have changed for the better.
The new report comes from a Korea, citing sources who claim to have knowledge of Samsung’s plans for the February 26 mobile trade show. With the electronics gaint largely expected to wait until March to show off its latest next-generation Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Tab S3 could be the focal point now for Samsung at MWC in Barcelona.
According to the reports, Samsung plans to offer a tablet device featuring a 9.7″ display offering 2048-by-1536 resolution. The tablet will offer both Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM. On the back portion, it has a 12-megapixel rear camera while the report expects the Galaxy Tab S3 to feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The prominent Android device render leaker Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) tweeted an image of the Tab S3 with its attachable keyboard. Closely inspected, showing up that Samsung removed the row of Function keys at the top of the keyboard and integrated the vertical space it gained to make the rest of the keys larger.
With that said, the Galaxy Tab S3 will be shipping with Android 7.0 Nougat, and should be thinner than its predecessor, though its exact dimensions weren’t revealed by the reports as yet. If this image is accurate, the major difference between the keyboards on the Tab S2 and its successor Tab S3 are simple.
The other main difference seen in this version’s keyboard would be the left and right arrow keys are as large as the adjecent Control and Alt keys. Welcome change from the previous at half size and created awkward gaps between those key and the Shift key above it. Previously it was rumored that the S3 will include the S Pen stylus as well.
When you compare the thinner 5.6mm thick Galaxy Tab S2, the newly leaked image shows Samsung’s signature Home button also expected to come with an S Pen stylus. With model numbers SM-T820 and SM-T825, could start at 700,000 won (US$ 605 / INR 40950 approximately.
