Fortnite 4.1 update patch notes have now been released with the Avenger: Infinity War crossover mode, Infinity Gauntlet and more. It gives an opportunity for hardcore Fortnite gamers an idea of the changes and improvements players can expect to see once servers are up and running again.
Gamers of Fortnite to get taste of what it feels to “wield true power” as the game experiences a mashup with the Avengers: Infinity War title. This is everything that you love about Fortnite, mixed up with the stunning power of the six Infinity Stones from the Marvel Universe.
Experience Fortnite x Avengers like never before in this limited time event! As part of the huge update 4.1 patch, Fortnite gets an epic Avengers today. Fortnite Battle Royale fans are getting up for the game’s first major crossover event, as Epic Games shocked the world by announcing a Fortnite and Avengers Infinity War crossover event for Battle Royale.
Epic also launches another new patch, this one letting you play as Thanos for a limited time. This is not nearly as significant as Fortnite’s big 4.0 update that kicked off Season 4, Epic Games has released a new patch, v4.1. It introduces some new content for both Battle Royale and Save the World modes, and the biggest addition is that of a new limited-time mode. Infinity Gauntlet is the recently announced Avengers: Infinity War crossover mode where you can play as Thanos himself.
If you are tired of plying Fortnite as a mere mortal, who is susceptible to damage from pitiful weapons and failing from structures, then the Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup is going to be a huge motivator for your gaming sessions.
The new mode is solo-only and plays much like a normal match. However, a meteor eventually crashes (land in the storm safe zone), extremely leaving behind the Infinity Gauntlet for one play to wield – holds the power of the six Infinity Stones. This transforms them into Thanos and prevents them from building or using weapons, which also provides them with significant powers to lay waste to the competition in the Fortnite universe as one of the world’s most vicious characters.
Otherwise, many of the changes on the Battle Royale side are bug fixes, although there are some other notable additions in the full patch notes. Thanos will come with multiple abilities, such as a super-jump that can see the largest structures or obstructions left in the distance or even that legendary mighty Thanos punch which instantly knocks enemies back and destroys structures.
Once Thanos has been destroyed, then the Gauntlet will become available for another player to pick up or will disappear if left for a prolonged period of time until another meteor strikes and brings another incarnation of the Infinity Gauntlet. As in this game mode, the last person standing will be the victor, even if that’s not Thanos.
Players can also now join the party of players who are currently in a match. While they’ll still have to wait for the match to end to begin playing with those party members, it will let them get updates on things like how many players are still alive. As this latest version 4.1 update comes with a multitude of bug fixes and improvements, such as a fix for soccer game effects not playing after a goal is scored and a number of camera issues with were present throughout the game.
One other thing to be aware of is specific to Fortnite Mobile players. The auto-run feature added in the 4.0 update has been disabled “due to some unintentional actions occurring when using it.” So if you’re wondering why you aren’t being prompted to enable auto-run after moving for several seconds, that’s should be because Epic has removed that prompt for now.
Epic has also said that it has improved gaming visuals in a number of areas, fixed a number of UI glitches, and also introduced some great audio enhancements to make a much more unique experience. All of these improvements, bit to the Battle Royale and Save the World aspects of the Fortnite experience, are live and playable from May 8th, 2018.
Update 4.1 releases alongside not only the aforementioned Infinity Gauntlet mode but also Week 2 challenges for Battle Pass owners. These leaked ahead of time and involve using Hop Rocks and dancing in front of film cameras.
It’s almost worth becoming one just to become Thanos and wield the power of the Infinity Stones in Fortnite.
