Hardware Specs: Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Edge Models Said To Feature Curved Display

As Apple has introduced two of its new smartphones iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at the event in San Fransisco, and now it’s time for South Korean firm Samsung. Gets ragged on for looking to the iPhone for design inspiration for the next-generation Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge models. It was last year when Samsung beat Apple at its own game when it released the beautiful Galaxy S6 last year.

Featuring a curved display and making consumers more fancy against the device’s sleek new design. Introduced the edge feature with the Galaxy Note Edge and a double edge aesthetic with the Galaxy S6 Edge. Since then, Samsung has been announcing an Edge variant alongside the flat screen models until the Galaxy Note 7.

With the launch of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Samsung’s smartphone market share grown to a high competing with the likes of Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in the arena, where sales of the premium model actually outpaced the flat-screened S7 model, as per the reports. Now, another report has been suggesting that Samsung gas something interesting plans in the works for the upcoming Galaxy S8 models.

Now the Korean tech giant is promoting the curvy screen as its premium smartphone lineup’s key identity,” the report notes.

According to the latest report, it seems Samsung‘s Galaxy S8 might not come with a flat screen anymore, which also comes curved like the Galaxy S8 Edge variant. That means both the Samsung’s 2017 flagship devices will sport curved displays. Sources also claims the company has already started securing display panels in two different sizes – 5.1-inch for the Galaxy S8 and 5.5-inch for the Galaxy S8 Edge, comes from its own display-making unit Samsung Display, the world’s sole producer of double-edge screens.

If you look at the Galaxy Note7’s dual curved display you will definitely find the difference and catch the point that there’s no flat screen variant. On the other hand, Samsung also simplified the S series line by having 2 models instead of 3 like last year. Only reason for this could be the ever-increasing demand for the curved screen variants. Could this mean Samsung’s high-end handsets will feature curved displays in the coming years?

Rumor mill already combines the previous speculations, as had it that Samsung’s next Galaxy S smartphones will feature a dual-lens camera system similar to what the Apple’s newly launched iPhone 7 Plus honored. Additionally, the Galaxy S8 is said to feature an iris scanning technology (found on Note7) and an improved 8MP front-facing camera specifications and more.

The news regarding Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge features rumored are somewhat tempting, but we have to see whether it happens in reality.
