As expected, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has officially announced its flagship smartphone, the Honor 8 Pro in India. Here are the details.
After unveiling the Honor 8 Pro handset last month for the country, Huawei Terminal brand Honor has launched the same smartphone today in the country. Some of the highlight features on the smartphone includes its dual rear camera setup, a massive 4000mAh battery, and a mammoth 6GB of RAM memory. Additionally, the retail box for the Honor 8 Pro can also be turned into a Google Cardboard viewer for VR experience as well.
The Honor 8 Pro (Review). It will be available in Navy Blue and Midnight Black color variants in India, especially. The phone comes with a fingerprint scanner, which is far located at the back and can also be used to unlock the device.
By the way, forgot to say that the Honor 8 Pro an exclusive smartphone via Amazon India. Its first sale for the Amazon Prime members will start at 6pm IST on Monday, July 10 – which also happens to be the beginning of Amazon Prime Day. Open sales begin from 12am on July 13. Honor 8 Pro Price In India & Launch Offers
The Honor 8 Pro priced in India for Rs. 29,999 and the company is selling the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. At the price, the smartphone goes head-to-head with the newly arrived OnePlus 5 in the Indian market – specifically, the 6 gigs RAM/64GB storage priced at Rs. 32,999 – that also sports a dual rear camera system.
Honor 8 PRO Specifications
Starting with the optics on the smartphone, Honor 8 Pro comes with a dual rear camera sensors that consists of two 12-megapixel sensors with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording. One sensor takes the images in RGB while the other takes the images in monochrome, Up front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel sensor coupled with an 77-degree wide-angle lens.
Now that the Honor 8 Pro launched in India, the smartphone being a dual-SIM hardware that runs Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.1 out-of-the-box. The Huawei Honor’s EMUI OS has already been touted as the adaptive nature, claims that 90 percent of core operations can be completed in just 3 easy steps. It sports a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) LTPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under-the-hood, the smartphone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 (four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz) coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
And the Honor 8 Pro comes with 128GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB more via microSD card in Hubrid dual-SIM format. According to the company, the 128GB variant is exclusive for the Indian market, and the “rest of the world will have to make do with 64GB.” The connectivity options on the Honor 8 Pro smartphone include 4G VoLTE support, dual-band dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack, and NFC.
Finally, the most important element is the battery on Honor 8 Pro is of 4000mAh capacity, that’s rated to deliver up to 1.44 days of heavy usage and 2 days with regular battery use. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, infrared sensor, and proximity sensor.
Note: The smartphone, Honor 8 Pro comes with the Galaxy on Fire 3 and Jaunt VR apps pre-installed and its’s said that the company has partnered with GameLoft and GoPro for in-built apps as well.
