It seems like Instagram is aiming to increase interaction with its users across the globe through a new Translation button it plans to incorporate it in the next month update. Facebook-acquired photo-sharing app says the button which is called to the Instagram Translation will appear as a button on feed stories and profile bios written in languages different from the speech a user’s phone or tablet is set to. Announced by Instagram just after it reached 500 million user base, that it would be adding a new feature to help its users better understand and communicate with each other. Here are the details.
Reportedly said by the Instagram-owned company that its community “has grown faster and become more global” than it ever imagined. To cater to the needs of growing Instagram community, the app in a post on Wednesday said it is adding a translation tool to its application from next month.
With the help of new translation tool, Instagram said people will “soon be able to understand the full story of a moment, no matter what language they speak.” In fact, this Instagram translation feature was already made available on its parent company, Facebook, it was probably just a matter of time to rollout.
“In the coming month, you’ll see a translation button on feed stories and profile bios written in languages different from your own,” said the filter-driven app.
The visual-oriented service is already supporting 25 languages and Instagram lists on its website 23 languages that will initially be supported by the new button, including French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
