The LG Gentle is the south Korean company’s latest smartphone introduced it with affordable price tag, that too powered by Lollipop onboard. This new Flip Phone from LG has a bit different specs and design when compared to the big slabs that we’re used to seeing.
Meet LG Gentle, a new flip smartphone has a 3.2-inch (320 x 480 pixels) display, is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has a 3-megapixel rear camera without flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It has support for 4G connectivity, T9 keypad, a dedicated Q button that allows users to instantly activate the most frequently used apps, Kakao Talk messenger and got a soft leather-like finish on the outer side panel.
The handset is perfect for elderly customers, with a large keypad perfect for those with larger hands and fingers or with poor eyesight, which it combined with a touch-enabled display, equates to a modest 181ppi density, paired with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and further expandable using microSD card, LTE support and it packs a 1700mAh battery.
LG has made some modifications in the interface to ensure it works properly with the keypad and the smaller display. This is the company’s third clamshell Android smartphone. The company says it will introduce such customized products based on the lifestyle of users, regarding the demand for flip smartphone segment raise in the Asian market including South Korea.
The LG Gentle will go on sale in South Korea starting July 29th and available from local operator LG U+ for 200,000 SK Won (US$170). Not confirmed for a launch outside South Korea but it’s unlikely the handset will launch in Europe or the USA.
