Microsoft Announces Its 10.8-Inch Surface 3 Intel Atom X7 Powered Tablets, Costs $499

Microsoft Surface 3, the company’s latest successor and affordable version of the last year’s Surface Pro 3 tablet, which is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom X7 (Cherry Trail) CPU and runs on Windows 8.1 64-bit OS, which is an upgradable to Windows 10 when its launched.


The new Surface 3 slate features a 10.8-inch HD screen with an aspect ratio of 3:2 ClearType Full HD Plus 10-point multi-touch and it’s slightly 8.7mm thinner than its pro prodecessor and also lighter at 622g compared to the Surface Pro 3 with 12″ display.

The software maker says that Surcae 3 is far the thinnest and lightest tablet Microsoft has ever shipped, which nevertheless comes with LTE connectivity with on-board nano-SIM slot. Indeed comes with one-year subscription of Office 365.


Available in two variants one with 2 gigs of RAM and another one coupled with 4 GB of RAM and the built-in storage varies.

Microsoft Surface 3 Specifications

Selling the Type Cover in a range of colors separately for $130 and the Docking Station go live on sale as well.

Surface 3 Price and Availability

For the 2GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage on the Microsoft Surface 3 costs $499 and the 4GB RAM with 128GB is priced at $599. Surface 3 LTE tablet will cost you $599 (2GB RAM+64GB) and purchase the 4 gigs RAM and 128GB Surface 3 with LTE costs $699. Notably, the LTE Surface 3 tablet variants goes on sale and shipped by June 26, 2015.
