HMD Global, the Finnish company that have authentic rights to produce Nokia phones, revealed its Zeiss partnership earlier this month. Now, according to the HMD, it is bringing back the Zeiss branding on Nokia-licensed phones, and it appears the first one will emerge later this month. Here are the details you really want to know about.
After the launch of Nokia 3, 5 and Nokia 6, the first high-end smartphone from HMD Global is called Nokia 8. Rumored for long time now, nevertheless, it has been spotted with dual camera setup now. As per the report that’s pointing at HMD will launch a Nokia 8 handset on July 31st, that too, with two cameras on-board. Both cameras are said to be 13-megapixels and include Carl Zeiss optics.
The Nokia 8 render offers a closer look at the design of the upcoming phone from both front and back. Sporting a Nokia branding, earpiece and a front camera at the top of the display. A physical Home button will also double as a fingerprint sensor and two capacitive touch buttons are fixed at the bottom of the display. By the way, the same phone reveals something like rounded edges and a unibody metal design.
It is expected that the Nokia 8 smartphone to feature a 5.3-inch 2k QHD display (2560 x 1440), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and dual-SIM models. The source has supplied a leaked photo of the Nokia 8 in a blue variant, but the phone is also assumed to debut in silver and gold variants.
As you can see at the back of Nokia 8, there is a vertical dual rear camera sensor with Zeiss optics. Several Nokia flagship including the Nokia 808 PureView and Nokia Lumia 1020 came with 41MP snappers with Carl Zeiss optics in the past.
This appears to be HMD’s high-end Nokia branded device, and will likely ship with a pure stock version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Again, it seems that HMD is sticking with physical keys and larger display bezels for its Nokia-branded flagship device. In order to make the Nokia 8 a hard sell against the Samsung Galaxy S8 and other similar Android-powered handsets in the market. And the pricing could make a big difference when compared it with for design elements.
