OnePlus Details Pricing For Its Upcoming OnePlus 2 Device, Initiates At $322 USD

It was a couple of days ago when OnePlus detailed about the Snapdragon 810 chipset packing OnePlus 2 and today it revealed its official price in the cards. As promised, and true to the word the Chinese company has indeed spoke about the pricing of its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 2.

Recently it was suggested that the OnePlus 2nd-generation model would start at as low as 1999 Yuan (roughly Rs 20,644), which went wild and not ben in contrast to the previous 2,500 Yuan (Rs 26,000 approx) price quoted by CEO Pete Lau, but nevertheless been shocking when you consider it is less than what the OnePlus One launched it.

Today, the company has put behind all earlier rumors regarding the price of OnePlus 2, and allotted its retail price at $322 or Rs 20,540 approximately. Makes sense with the company’s initial pricing marks above the INR 20,000 since the next forthcoming flagship is widely expected to pack better set of specs and build materials.

Although, OnePlus 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, which has been improved to tackle with the overheating issues, and it seems like an extra layer of protection is placed. OnePlus has coated a layer of thermal gel and graphite on top of the processors across different areas of the phone. Whereas the graphite ensures the heat from the CPUs dissipate eventually, and “after regorous testing, the 2 meets the industry standard for phone temperature, even when hours of usage.”

Specification, when we concern, the OnePlus 2 flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, 3GB of RAM, Adreno 430 GPU. Camera department on the second one goes with a 16MP[ rear sensor and houses a 5MP front-facing selfie-focused shooter. Software it will be using is the Google’s latest version of mobile OS – Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under OxygenOS in India and Hydrogen OS in China.

OnePlus says as much,

The 810 is much more powerful than its younger counterpart, the 801, and is a much more expensive component. We’re paying more for the 810 than we ever have for the 801. In fact, the cost is almost 60% higher, and we’re not getting any discount. We can tell you now that the price of the 2 will certainly be higher than $322.

No words still on OnePlus 2 release date timeframe has been set or revealed, but earlier it was teased and tipped to be going live in July. Launched next month is imminent.
