The most awaited release of Android 5.0 Lollipop based CyanogenMod 12S upgrade on its way to hits the OnePlus One smartphones. The Chinese manufacturer’s co-founder announced that the ROM has received certification from Google. More details on OnePlus One CyanogenMod 12S update can be found right after this jump.
The Cyanogen OS update for OnePlus One phones was actually expected to reach in March 2015, but it didn’t and the OnePlus did managed to release its OxygenOS for the One smartphone later. Now that the latest CyanogenMod OS is on its way for users, as it has already passed the certification process, so we can expect it to roll out within next few days.
The CyanogenMod 12S is a custom ROM based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, like OxygenOS ROM – offers three major features – gesture controls including off screen gestures like double tap to wake and camera shortcut; customization in terms of lock screen wallpapers, choice of hardware and software navigation keys, and a customizable quick settings screen; as well as a new file manager.
However, on the official CyanogenMod blog, the company also mentioned that work has commenced on the Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the CyagnogenMod 12S will bring an improved privacy and permission controls, alongside the new LiveDisplay will be the go-to menu option for calibrating and adjusting the screen as per personal needs.
