Only Samsung 4G Phones Will Be launched And Sold In India In The Future

Samsung has made an announcement that it will only launch 4G LTE with VoLTE support ‘J’ and ‘On’ series smartphones for Indian market. As the company has been releasing a big range of mid-range phones which are 4G mobile-friendly ones and today the South Korean company has made its decision official and clear that it will only be launching 4G phones in India. Here are the details.

For that the company has also made available for download My Galaxy app. Released in Kolkata and Lucknow yesterday. This updated app has on-page design, offers videos, music and gaming experience and alo gives quick access to LifeStyle services like recharges, bill payments, movie tickets, Cab booking, flight & Hotel bookings, live chat, hyperlocal deals and many more.

The new My Galaxy app is been developed by Indian research and development team at Samsung R&D Institute (SRI) at Bangalore, which is probably the largest overseas R7D Centre.

With that said, the My Galaxy app will also be announced in Hyderabad, Ahmadabad and Chandigarh in the future. Samsung would invest Rs. 2000 crore at its Noida plant for increasing smartphone manufacturing capacity and its other products as well.


Commenting on that decision, Manu Sharma, VP (mobile business) of Samsung India Electronics, said:

Nearly 80 per cent of the smartphone users have shifted to 4G-enabled handsets. We will launch all our future smartphones in this category across all segments.

This shows that Samsung is serious about the Indian market, where it is already enjoying 48.6 per cent market share in value terms in the smarphone segment [According to report, August 2016]. Samsung in India has a portfolio of 25 different smartphones, most of which are 4G-enabled.

Regarding the new My Galaxy app,  Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President, Samsung India Electronics, said:
