Panasonic launched a new smartphone under its Eluga series. Called the Panasonic Eluga Pure, will start shipping in Taiwan March 27. Here are the details you need to know about.
Pre-orders for Panasonic Eluga Pure can be made through the company’s Taiwan website at NT $4,990 (approximately Rs 10,700), which will become available from 27th this month. As of now, there’s no indication on whether the smartphone will be released in other markets including India and the rest.
Speaking about the Eluga Pure features, it has a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720) resolution display with 2.5D curved glass for better protection of the screen. Under the hood, there is a 1.25GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core 64-bit processor, has equipped with Mali-T720 GPU which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage via microSD card.
Photography on the Eluga Pure smartphone will give user full access to 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and also flaunts a 8-megapixel selfie camera with front flash support as well for better low-light selfies and video calling. The device from Panasonic Eluga line packs a 2900mAh battery, offering 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. While the device also houses a micro-USB port and the 3.5mm audio jack on the top edge, whereas the speakers are built at back portion of the Eluga Pure smartphone.
The Eluga Pure is the new Panasonic device comes running Android 6.0 Marshmallow based on top of company’s own skin FitHome UI that offers a one hand operation interface, and supports a micro-SIM slot. For now, it’s not yet clear whether the Panasonic Eluga Pure will be available in Indian market anytime soon, while the company has already launched two new phones in the budget segment, the Eluga Pulse and Eluga Pulse X – priced at Rs 9690 and the Rs 10,990.
The Panasonic Eluga Pure will be available in Titanium Crystal Gray color with a metal brushed finish on the real panel. With curved edges and narrow side bezels, the Eluga Pure sports a thin metallic strip on its sides. The power button and volume rockers are placed on its right and the headphone jack on top alongside the charging port. Unfortunately, the Eluga Pure doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor on-board.
If the Panasonic Eluga Pure debuts in India, then, the smartphone is likely expected to take on popular budget friendly Android smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 Plus and Lenovo K6 Power among others in the familiar category. Just a guess!
