Unofficial version of Facebook Mssenger for Mac lack the aforementioned tab bar found in iPhone, iPad apps. He was also said to be logged into Facebook’s internal portals and VPN, furthermore confrming they’re on an Messenger for Mac app that’s not available to public, officially.
