According to the patent that suggesting the iris scanner on the 2017 model of Moto Z will be an addition to the embedded fingerprint sensor for added security and more.
The Lenovo-acquired Motorola company is expected to unveil a new smartphone in Moto Z series as the next iteration on the forthcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017) event in Barcelona next month. Rumors on Moto Z (2017) edition have surfaced already on the internet web for quite some time now. The latest speculations adds to the list is it will feature an iris scanner for biometric authentication. Here’s what the patent filing suggests.
Based on that, the narrow angle lenses will be placed alongside the regular front-facing camera. The lens that allows the phone find the actual position of the eye even if the user is not facing the handset directly or is facing it from either side. The sketches of the rumored Moto Z model of this year further reveal that not only it having a new biometric sensor, the smartphone will continue featuring the regular fingerprint sensor embedded into the Home button.
With the model number XT1650, Motorola’s new smartphone was spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench recently, which is the same rumored phone said to be the upcoming Moto Z (2017). In this case, we also received some of its specifications, as per Geekbench leaks. The expected Moto Z (2017) may come with the power of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, making it the top-end high configuration mobile of the year from Motorola. The processor brings performance improvements and efficiency to devices. Furthermore, the device is said to come paired with 4GB of RAM. On the software front, it will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
Now that the benchmark scores for the Moto Z (2017) variant achieves a single-core of 1930 and when tested on multi-core it scored 6207. Lot of the details are still under the wraps of the Moto Z (2017), probably that it will continue with the modular functionality which the currently available models come in with.
For the time being, you should know something about Moto Z, launched in 2016 – came with a range of Moto Mods that can be connected to the 16-dot magnetic gold plated connector at the back of the hardware.
