Rumors: Samsung Galaxy S8 To Feature Autofocus-Based Selfie Camera

There’s much more time for the release of Samsung Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone. Set to go live in 2017, the Galaxy S8 is razed to compete with its rival smartphone brands. For that, Samsung is planning to put a front-facing selfie camera boasting auto-focus capabilities, something that is still underground and not officially confirmed.

Reported that Samsung is also planning to use a slimmer technology for its front camera’s autofocus module as compared to the rear camera to ensure that it doesn’t stick out.

Technically, the AF functionality integration would be an expensive feature to include, which is actually used on the rear camera sensors of a smartphone. When speaking of selfie obsession that showing no signs of dampening, it’s no surprise that Samsung targeting its next Galaxy S7 successor device at this audience.

Powered by two chipsets – one from Qualcomm – Snapdragon 835 for the US and Exynos 8895 for the rest of the world. With that said, Samsung is also rumored has began mass production of its chipsets, and will be based on 10nm process. On the memory side, Samsung Galaxy S8 could be available in two offerings, one with 6GB RAM and the other with 8GB RAM.

On the connectivity front, the Galaxy S8 is likely to get support for USB Type-C port, alongside 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi 802.11ac bands. Battery is said to be backed by a 4200mAh unit with fast charging and wireless features. Iris scanner, water and dust resistance, heart rate sensor are also expected with the launch of Galaxy S8. Plus on the software front, the smartphone from Samsung in Galaxy S series, the S8 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
