News regarding Samsung might announce the Galaxy Note 5 in July is alleged. Why? The Korean giant wants to beat Apple’s iPhone 6S or 6S Plus in the race. Samsung is pretty much looking forward to make its next Note killer more powerful and expected to follow up the asthetics of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in early September, a day before Berlin’s IFA trade show. Such has been traditional till now, but according to Korea’s WhoWired, Samsung will be set to drop the initiative much sooner – as early as by the end of July. Clever, just before the release time for the Apple iPhone 6s, possible announcement in August. More details on the rumored Galaxy Note 5 release time frame can be checked right after this jump.
Reportedly, the Galaxy Note 5 development is a bit faster now than expected, so Samsung decided to push its announcement data forward, and achieve the strategic advantage over Cupertino’s mpending iPhone 6s and 6S Plus unveil. Finalized the specs of the Galaxy Note 5 and showcased it to its global telecom partners. Samsung on the other hand also has plans to complete prototype by mid-June, and apparently take pre-order before the launch date at the end of July.
Tipped a couple of times already that Samsung Display will be ready to mass-produce Ultra-HD (2160×3840) resolution AMOLED screens in 2015, just in time for a summer Galaxy Note 5 unveil. Screen mentioned 5.89-inches for the regular Note 5, and 5.78″ for Note 5 Edge, which is something we have heard of before and density makes sense for Note devices.
“At an Ultra-HD resolution, these display diagonals will result in mind-warping pixel densities of over 700 pixels per inch.” Supports 4K content and immersing ourself in VR experince, so pushing smartphone displays to such heights makes sense for these two scenerios in particular.
Powered by a Samsung Exynos chipset, possibly same as we find on the Galaxy S6 flagship, but we can’t visualize Samsung potential on the ARM Mali-T760 GPU to feed a 4K display without a serious drop in performance, as though, it already takes a hit when outputting 3D graphics to the GS6’s 1440p resolution screen. Possibly, Samsung has a btter solution to fix the cards.
The Korean media also claims that the Note 5 will be 0.31in (7.9mm) thick, which is 0.2in (0.6mm) thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4. Phablet, that could house an even larger 4100mAh battery (Note 4 with 3220mAh unit), would be quite the achievement if it ever comes accurate.
The Galaxy Note 5 could feature a 2K or a 4K display and an Exynos 7 processor with an inbuilt homegrown modem. Could it be enough, to rival iPhone 6s or 6s Plus in the upcoming months in the phablet market, is to be seen.
Notably, Samsung is also rumored to announce its first rounded smartwatch ‘Gear A‘ runs on Tizen OS version, see the sunlight alongside the Galaxy Note 5. Stay tuned!
