Samsung Galaxy Note 5 With 5.7-inch QHD Display Launched In India At Rs. 53900

It’s official now. Samsung has launched its Galaxy Note 5 flaghsip phablet in India for a starting price of Rs 53,900 for 32GB version device, following the firm’s launch of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ in the country last month.

Priced at $808 for the 32GB Note 5 model, and INR 59,900 ($897) for the 64GB Galaxy Nte5 variant, both the models of Samsung Galaxy Note flagship are available to purchase in India. It was last month when the South Korean electronics announced both the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ at its Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event, and on the same month it launched the curved phablet in India at Rs 57,900.

The Galaxy Note 5 will go on sale on September 20, and pre-orders open from Monday, today, on Sept. 7th. Specs-wise, the Note5 sports a 5.7-inch QHD  (1440×2560 pixels) Super-Amoled display with a pixel density of 515ppi, and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC with four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz, apart from 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

Camera department on the Note 5 goes with a 16MP rear sensor with f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilisation and a 5MP Selfie shooter on front. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and the camera app can be opened with a double press on the home button, which also bears the fingerprint sensor. A Live Broadcast feature is also being touted.

Other key features include an improved S Pen stylus with push to eject/insert mechanism. Air Command launches instantly when the S-Pen is removed, so that you can easily access Action Memo, Smart Select, Screen Write, Scroll Capture offers annotation and screen/ text capturing abilities etc. Nevertheless, you can even add up to 3 favorite app shortcuts, and it is backed by a 3000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities to charge the device fully in almost 90 minutes using a wired fast charger and in just 120 minutes using Samsung Wireless Charger.

The Galaxy Note 4 packs 4G LTE Cat. 6 modem and support for India’s 4G LTE bands. It features NFC and MST technology to power the Samsung Pay mobile payment service, but for now, there are no details on when the service will be debuting in India. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB 2.0. Available in Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium colour variants, along with that Samsung will also be offering 100GB of OneDrive cloud storage for free.
