Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ both are set to be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona next month. Here’s what we got is a newly leaked document that seemingly revealing the exact release date as well as pre-order and shipping dates. Here are the details you need to know about it.
First and foremost, the battery capacity of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ have been revealed by the Brazil telecommunications agency in the certificates published. According to that, the Samsung’s flagship smartphones – the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will retain the same 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries with a nominal voltage of 3.85V and will have 11.55Wh and 13.48Wh respectively.
If you look at the model number which matches the ones reported by the FCC EB-BG960ABE (SM-G960F) and EB-GB965ABE (SM-G965F). Prior to this leak, last week we have encountered by a retail box package of the S9 revealing specifications such as 5.8-inch curved-edge Super AMOLED Infinity Display, Super-Speed Dual Pixel 12-megapixel camera with OIS, a F/1.5 variable aperture, super Slo-mo videos, and an 8MP front-facing camera.
Apart from this, the successor devices to the Samsung’s Galaxy S8 line is widely expected to feature two models – the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. Popular tipster Evan Blass has tweeted what he calls it of the “go-to-market schedule for Galaxy S9 and S9+”. The upcoming Samsung phones will compete with the likes of Apple’s iPhone X.
Following the tweet at @evleaks, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ on February 26. Furthermore, he says, both the handsets will be up for pre-orders from March 3 and start shipping from March 16. Blass says “a C-level executive at a major case maker” has revealed these details.
Thus far many rumors and leaks have outed several other details relating to Galaxy S9 and S9+ specifications and features. As part, Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) listing, the Galaxy S9, and S9+ will pack in the same battery capacities as those of last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
Additionally, these smartphones are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor in the US, and the newly launched Exynos 9 Series 9810 CPU in international markets, including India. Also speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S9 to sport a single rear-camera setup, but the Galaxy S9+ might get a dual camera module.
Other specs to include a 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage on the Galaxy S9. On the Plus variant of Galaxy S9+ is said to have a larger 6.2-inch curved-edge sAMOLED Infinity Display, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage with a dedicated microSD card slot. Both the devices will run on Android 8.0 Oreo with Galaxy Experience UI on top.
It is also reportedly confirmed that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack. A 512GB variant of the Galaxy S9+ is also in the scene to be announced at the launch event in February.
