Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ Pre-orders, features, specs, price and release date is now official. Here are the details.
The company has also revealed the pricing of the two phones in the US, UK and Europe markets, also taking pre-orders in several markets. Now that, it looks like it has started pre-booking for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in India immediately through Samsung Shop.
Before we go forward into booking the phones, we have to say something about its internal and outer parts of the smartphones. Android fans are set to receive one of the impressive smartphones for this year. As expected, Samsung has set the scene perfectly by officially unveiling its Galaxy S9 and S9+ handsets at a pre-arranged pre-event press conference.
Most of the leaks turned out to be accurate, as giving us an idea of what to expect with the S9 and S9+. From a design perspective, both devices – compared to last year – now features a glass design comprising of 20-percent thicker glass to improve durability and core strength. Samsung has upgraded to Series 7000 aluminum and made savings on the dimensions by making both handsets shorter and narrower than Galaxy S8/S8+.
United States customers will get their hands-on of smartphones powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip (outside the US it will be Samsung’s Exynos chip – 9810) with 2.8GHz and 1.7GHz quad-core processors. The larger Galaxy S9+ has a stunning 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, and a 3,300mAh battery. The smaller variant is also stunning in its own agenda, comes with 4GB RAM, a smaller 3000mAh battery. All other features of the devices will be same, but the S9+ has the inclusion of a dual-lens camera.
Both of the devices comes with a highly capable 12-megapixel super Speed Dual Pixel rear camera sensor with OIS and dual aperture, with one having a f/2.4 aperture for shooting bright scenes, and the second one coming with a wider f/1.5 aperture for improved low-light photography.
Samsung has also introduced a camera feature partnering Disney called “AR Emoji“. Functions similar to Apple’s iPhone X Anomoji feature as well as Snapchat’s Bitmoji. It creates a 3D model using a “data-based machine learning algorithm.”
The Galaxy S9 series uses both facial+iris scanning for unlocking at the same time, Android 8.0 Oreo with Desktop Experience features using the new DeX Pad, which lets users use S9 as a trackpad, Super Slow-mo capture at 960fps, 4K@60fps video recording, stereo speakers, and more added.
Pricing and Availability
Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be available for pre-order on March 2nd, with actual launch penciled in for March 16th. It will be available in Lilac Purple, Midnight Black, and Coral Blue colors. You can also find your eligibility in the newly revealed trade-in deals.
While pricing for the two, it will vary depending on the carrier it’s purchased from. Unlocked Galaxy S9 will cost $720, or $30 per month for 24 months. The unlocked Galaxy S9+ will cost $840, or $35 per month for 24 months.
Note: Samsung has yet to officially announce the final price in India. Expected at the launch event sometime around the first week of March. Flipkart is said to be revealing pre-order details soon.
