Samsung’s this year model of a flip phone is in the works as reports surface claiming that Samsung W2018 is another clamshell hardware to feature dual display and much more. Here are the details.
The news based out of China, Samsung’s next flip phone will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC, and the successor to Samsung W2017 (upcoming SM-W2018) details many more terms and key features. When compared to the W2017, Samsung W2018 is getting upgraded specifications and other new features.
With that said, the W2018 flip phone from Samsung is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset vs SD820 for W2017, and 4GB RAM found on its predecessor, now it also has been expanded to 6GB RAM for W2018 model alongside a 64GB storage base as well.
As mentioned already, the Samsung W2018 features a similar dual displays on the front and inside so that you can use the phone even when it’s closed and let you lip open to use the other screen with a keyboard. Also expected to come with Android Nougat, fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor and improved camera setup, not dual rear sensors, obviously.
Earlier reports circulated in the month of May 2017, Samsung SM-G9298 was spotted on TENAA certification site, that too with similar specs as of the W2017.
The Samsung W2018 is rumored to cost around $2,000, similar to the predecessor targeting premium smartphone market segment. Launch date and other offerings will be announced as soon as Samsung takes te warps off the purported W2018 clamshell model later this year. Stay tuned to more on this topic (Samsung) and others!
