Popular iOS game Super Mario Run was actually confirmed to be coming onto the Android platform back in January, but Nintendo only decided not to offer a more concrete release window than simply “March,” rather was the promise of an actual release date being on the horizon. According to a tweet, Nintendo America tipped the release time frame for Super Mario Run – will become available from March 23. Also, the Super Mario Run will come with version 2.0.0 update – teased new features such as the ability to unlock World 1-4 in the free version of the jumping game by completing a challenge, and be able to play as new characters. Here’s everything we know so far regarding its details and other requites.
Now, all the game players now hurtling towards the end of March, Nintendo has finally told us when we can get our hands on the endless runner – March 23rd. When non-iPhone users will be able to play the game starting on that given date. Android users will get version 2.0.0 upon release, while the iPhone users will also receive an update to the version on the same day, which the update will add some new playable characters to the game.
Nintendo originally launched the game as an iOS exclusive back in December, though it was always likely that an Android version would follow that release eventually. Four month of longer-than-anticipated wait though, those eager to get their hands on the title as soon as possible can pre-register for the download, meaning it will pop up on their devices as soon as it made available by the folks over at Nintendo.
In this game, Mario constantly moves forward through the courses while you use a variety of jumps to navigate. Mario will behave differently depending on the timing of your taps, so it’s up to you to show off particularly smooth moves, gather coins, and reach the goal.
Upon launch, Android gamers will right away receive version 2.0, while those on iOS will also get an update that will bring feature parity across both platforms. The game will also be updated for iOS users, bringing in some additional playable characters, as well as bug fixes and the like.
Like its iOS counterpart, Super Mario Run for Android will be a free download from the Google Play Store with limited playable levels, as an in-app purchase for $9.99 will unlock the entire game, which is something we heartily recommend you do without delay.
