Tweetbot 3 For Mac Launches With Redesigned Interface, New Features, Tweaks, Dark Mode, More

Tapbots today launched Tweetbots 3, a new and updated version of its popular Twitter app for macOS. Tweetbot 3 is now available for download from the Mac App Store.

Tweetbot 3 for Mac operating system adds a handful of new features, including a dark mode, improved timeline management, and other design tweaks. Interestingly, Tweetbot 3 brings with it a newly redesigned interface which has been created afresh and from the ground up for the Mac.

Tweetbot has been around since 2012, and this new version doesn’t dramatically change the formula. A fresh interface is something users of the older Tweetbot 2 will immediately notice, with a better use of space evident. The overall look and feel of the app are decidedly cleaner, which users will no doubt appreciate compared to some more cluttered alternatives.

Compared to Tweetbot 2, the new version 3 app features a cleaner interface with more white space, persistent icons for replying, retweeting, liking, profile options, and other things. One of those biggest features of Tweetbot both in the Mac and on iOS is its ability to mute text strings, users, and hashtags.

With the new timeline design, there are single-click tools for muting an account, blocking an account, or filing a report with Twitter so there is no need to go to a person’s profile or open a profile in Safari to perform these tasks, which is definitely something we need in the current Twitter climate.

Persistent icons are also present when viewing tweets also allow for more speedy replying, too. Tweetbot 3 also includes both light and dark themes as standard and both can be accessed via the preferences within the app.

In addition to this, Fans of dark themes will be pleased to know that Tweetbot 3 also features Expandable Sidebar, Columns being built from scratch with drag and drop support, inline media playback, and many more.

Dark Theme.
Your eyes will appreciate the new dark theme in low light situations. And the images and video in your timeline will love the extra attention.

There’s a collapsible side bar that offers easier access to your follower count, lists, direct message conversations, and profile options at the left side of the app. The new one-click button for composing a tweet is now located at the bottom right of the app rather than top right, and it offers quick fast access to images, location, and emojis. Mentions and Activity notifications have been merged into one single “Notifications” tab, but there’s still an option to view these separately if so desired.

There’s also a new option for allowing media like GIFs and videos to autoplay right in the timeline, which is enabled by default. Tweetbot 3 users will also notice that the app has an entirely redesigned icon.

Customers who are planning on purchasing Tweetbot 3 may be concerned about some upcoming changes that Twitter is planning to make to its APIs. To introduce these changes Twitter declared the date on June 19, which would have involved deprecating certain APIs used for streaming purposes, but has indefinitely delayed them following developer outcry.

The new Tweetbot 3 app is available to buy from the Mac App Store at a cost $9.99. It is a paid upgrade from the existing Tweetbot and Tweetbot 2 apps, so existing Tweetbot users who want to use the new version of the app will need to purchase it. Here is the [Direct Link].
