Here’s a good news for all smartphones users knowing that WhatsApp Messenger app for Android is now updated with voice calling feature. WhatsApp calling is finally added to the instant messaging app for everyone, which lets you make WhatsApp voice calls through your Android devices for free of cost.
The WhatsApp voice calling feature could help better compete with the like of Skype and Viber, and Apple’s iMessage/Facetime, which offers both voice calling and chatting. iPhone version of WhatsApp voice calling version is still on standby, but soon be available to download, or via an OTA update.
The voice calling feature on WhatsApp launched for Android last month in beta to a small number of users, followed by the availability on an invitation-only basis. Now that voice calling is available for every Android WhatsApp user downloaded the app from Google Play store.
The WhatsApp voice calling feature is available on version 2.12.5, but the Plys Store currently offers the older version 2.12.19, which enables the calling feature, but apps reviewers have reported that it does not work properly as yet. I deney it and it worked for me very well, but the voice quality is to be adjusted by the next update.
You acn now download the APK file of WhatsApp version 2.12.5 via this website or an APK Mirror website. Once installed the APK file, open WhatsApp and you’ll see a new tab of Calls next to the Chats and Contacts tab. Tap on the Calls tab and select the name of the person that you want to call throiugh WhatsApp.
Notably, the other person should also download and install the latest version of WhatsApp 2.12.5 on his Android devices to make calls or receive. First it would roll out on Android and iPhones. This would be followed by Windows Phone and certain BlackBerry models later this year.
