Xiaomi Announces MIUI 8 Global Beta ROMs Available To Download On July 11

Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 is the latest upgraded version of MIUI and it’s already running on several Redmi and Mi smartphones, and the final version of MIUI 8 ROMs will  go live for downloading and installation in August, till then you can experience new features by installing MIUI 8 Global Beta ROMs, which are been introduced by the company at an Mi Max launch event in India today.

As I, am the owner of Redmi 1s has been updated my version to MIUI 8 China developer version using FastBoot link. Screenshot to prove has been provided below. Xiaomi said that MIUI has over 200 million active users worldwide, as per the nielsen MIUI users in India are 33% more active than average. I can admit that being a Xiaomi Redmi user, MIUI 8 brings several new features and offers an all-new refreshed UI.

  • T9 Hindi keyboard
  • Mobikwik integration: For mobile and DTH recharges
  • SMS: Now has tags for different messages from Flipkart, HDFC Bank, Vodafone and more, Add booking to calendar
  • Power saving mode: Freezes background app activity, suspends syncs, updates and background tasks
  • Limits chain start-ups: Prevents unessential apps from starting up, reduces lags and power consumption

You can download MIUI 8 for Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Note, Mi Max 32GB, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 3. Public beta of MIUI 8 will be available from July 11th and the global stable ROM will go live officially from 16th of August, 2016.
