Alongside the launch of Mi 4c, Xiaomi has also introduced and becomes a new MVNO with Mi Mobile in China. Today was an exiting day for Xiaomi fans, as the Chinese company has although unveiled the availability of a more affordable smartphone in Mi 4 series with solid specs on-board, and by launching their own MVNO service in China it makes sense for its innovation, which is bit surprising. With Mi Mobile inside, the service basically simplifies carrier packages for consumers. More details on what and how Xiaomi’s Mi Mobile MVNO service works can be grabbed right after this jump.
Actually, Xiaomi’s main Mi Mobile MVNO goal is to offer “simple and transparent pricing structure,” which might even come in handy to consumers because carriers packages can really be overbearing sometimes. Now that, consumers who are interested in Mi Mobile can purchase Mi Mobile SIM cards online, and they’ll get a triple-cut SIM card as part of the package, so that user can ‘use it no matter if you need a nano, micro or mini SIM card.
By the way Xiaomi is also offering Mi Mobile ‘Pay As You Go’ and ‘3GB Dta Bundle for RMB 59 permonth (under $10)’ plans. The former however supports Chian Unicom’s 2G, 3G and 4G networks, costs RMB 0.10 (under $0.02) per voice minute, SMS and 1MB data, and will be available on Mi.com starting September 23rd. The latter, support China Telecom’s 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks, which is an equivalent to RMB 0.02/MB for data, and costs RMB 0.10 per voice minute, SMS or 1MB data exceeding 3GB. These pans will be available in public beta starting this upcoming October mnth, for those of you interested in.
The service comes with no monthly rental fees. An additional caller ID feature charge for the SIM card is RMB 5/per month. And of course, its MI Mobile service is suitable for frequent business travellers and for those who make a lot of long distance calls. Admited!
