New rumor has surfaced revealing that the unannounced Xiaomi Mi6 could launch around mid-next month, on April 16. Specifically, the latest speculation points the Mi 6 phone will be released on the particularly given timeframe.
About the processor which Xiaomi will reportedly not using an under-clocked version of Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset, rather would incorporate it with its own Pinecone Surge S1, which already been powered on the Xiaomi Mi 5c.
Now that all of Xiaomi fans eyes are set on the upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mi6. Being awaited with a lot of expectations, just after the launch of Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX smartphones last year. However, the Chinese manufacturer didn’t mention about its next-generation Mi phone at MWC 2017, but a new report today suggests that the Xiaomi Mi6 will officially be unveiled on the given launch date.
Other details were also been tipped, such as the Mi 6 will be the first of its kind to pack in Snapdragon 835 SoC, and this chipset won’t be under-clocked as the previous rumors had suggested.
The report further sheds the light on the Xiaomi Mi6’s display, will feature a 5.2-inch LCD screen with 2.5D curved glass. Also rumored that the Chinese company plans to launch Mi6 in three variants, which suggests will come with a ceramic body like the Mi Note 2.
Speaking on the Xiaomi’s Mi6’s camera department, the functionalities would be similar to that of Sony’s recently launched Xperia XZ Premium hardware, that sports a 19-megapixel rear sensor – can shoot 960fps slow motion videos of 720p. Upfront, the smartphone houses a 13-megapixel wide-angle selfie shooter. Earlier, it was rumored that the Mi6 may come with a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with support for 4K video recording capabilities and dual-tone LED flash. And also said to have an 8-megapixel front-facing camera powered by Sony IMX268 selfie combo.
As for pricing information, the Xiaomi Mi6 rumored to be starting at CNY 1,999 (US$290Rs 19,400 approximately). The variant which will equip a ceramic body touted to be the high-end model with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – priced at CNY 2,500 (around $365 / Rs. 24,200).

All the three variants of Mi6 will carry the Snapdragon 835 chipset and the third one would be powered by a MediaTek Helio X30 SoC. The lowest variant with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage and the mid-range variant with the same RAM memory but has a 64GB internal storage and finally the top-end variant with the ceramic body is said to come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
These smartphones will use 3000mAh battery and for the connectivity options on the Xiaomi Mi6, you may find a USB Type-C port and on the software front, these devices will most likely to run on Android 7.0 Nougat on top of MIUI 9 custom layered OS.
