Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Expected To Launch In First Month Of 2018

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to arrive in 2018 as it could be the company’s first release next year, according to a new report. Although the Chinese mobile company has released several smartphones this year and stood at one spot from the successful sales concerned by the Redmi Note 4 in India, especially.

More than five million Redmi Note 4 units were reportedly sold, making it the best smartphone in the country in the first half of this year. Xiaomi fans are now expecting something big from the company, could be the upcoming Redmi Note 5. And if it goes well, it could be the first release of 2018 from the company.

However, the Chinese tech giant is yet to reveal the release date of its next Redmi Note but its launch is imminent as it has been spotted by Geekbench benchmarking website. What’s new in the new Redmi Note 5? Interestingly, the benchmarking site shows up a new Xiaomi mobile with 18:9 aspect ratio – certified by the Chinese Telecommunications Equipment Certification Authority (TENAA). It also tipped that the Redmi Note 4 successor is expected to feature a similar display.

Yes, the Redmi Note 4 was announced officially in January this year. So fans of the Xiaomi brand will expect its successor to arrive at around the same time frame. Literally, it could come to India only a few months after releasing it in its home country China if past tradition is anything to go by.

This is what we know so far about Redmi Note 5

First and foremost, the said device has been spotted with Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, Android Nougat operating system, a single-core score of 1043 and a multi-core score of 2949 on Geekbench. Other reports also suggest that it could be powered by Snapdragon 636 chipset as SD617 doesn’t support 18:9 display.

Rest of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 specifications include features like a 5.5-inch full HD display with 401ppi. A 3GB/4GB RAM, a 32GB/64GB storage, a dual 16MP main camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, and a massive 4,000mAh battery with quick charging capabilities.

Pricing details also speculated, like it is expected to come in three variants. One with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage priced at 1,200 yuan ($175 / €155). For 4GB RAM + 32GB storage at 1,400 yuan ($205 / €180), and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage at 1,500 yuan ($220 / €195).
