ZTE Blade V9, Blade V9 Vita, Tempo Go Launched at MWC 2018: Price, Specs, Release Date

The newly announced ZTE Blade V9 and V9 Vita have a larger screen on a budget phone format. At Mobile World Congress, ZTE launched three new phones in its portfolio. Here are the details you may want to know about its features, specs, price and release date.

The category of smartphones from ZTE includes the Blade V9 and Blade V9 Vita in its mid-range segment, and also, introduced the company’s first phone with Android Oreo (Go edition) – ZTE Tempo Go. And of course, we are all but waiting for the official word on an Axon 7 successor.

The ZTE Blade V9 and V9 Vita are the latest entrants in ZTE’s V-series lineup, bringing a refreshed design to the budget and early mid-range list. With these devices, you get the classic combination of metallic mid-frame and a glass back. In terms of specifications, both the V9 and V9 Vita sport a fullscreen FHD+ display accompanied by an 18:9 aspect ratio.

Other details also include a dual camera setup on the back. The Blade V9 boasts improved low-light camera capabilities, something which ZTE says it’s confident consumers will better experience with the phone’s pricing segment. Android 8.1 Oreo ships on the devices, although it is not immediately clear yet if it is a skinned version of the OS as with previous Blade devices.

The rest is nothing of the ordinary. The Blade V9 is fairly the superior of the two – the Blade V9 Vita offers lesser hardware at a more affordable price point.

The ZTE Tempo Go, on the other hand, runs a custom version of Android Oreo that has been modified and optimized for budget smartphones with lower specs. To see more and more OEMs jump onto the Android Go bandwagon, providing cheap and affordable entry-level devices with Android Go, an optimized version of Oreo 8.1. ZTE’s contribution to Go comes in the form of Tempo Go.

The Tempo Go is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 system-on-chip, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Camera features include a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP sensor on the front. There is a 2,200mAh battery under the hood. The phone obviously runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) out-of-the-box.

The highlight of the device is Android Oreo (Go edition), which comes with an optimized suite of Google apps, focus on providing a streamlined Android experience at the entry-level.

On ZTE Blade V9 Vita, you will find a dual SIM slot, a 5.45-inch fullHD+ (2160x1080p) LCD display, Android 8.0, Snapdragon 435 CPU, 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB built-in storage.

In terms of the camera system, the Blade V9 Vita bears a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary shooter, because it’s a dual camera phone. There’s still a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. A 3200mAh battery backs the phone from under the hood.

ZTE Blade V9 is also a dual SIM smartphone, runs Android 8.0, sports a 5.7-inch FHD+ (1080p) S-IPS display. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 SoC, 3GB/4GB of RAM memory. Camera department includes a dual rear-facing camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor.

The rear camera of Blade V9 comes with some best features such as PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, an 8MP sensor with full-HD video recording is present. The Blade V9 has a 32GB/64GB storage, expandable up to 256GB SD card. It powers a 3100mAh battery capacity.

Availability: The Blade V9 will be made available to customers in Spain, Germany, Russia, Mexico, and China €269 (~$330) onwards while the V9 Vita will be made available in the same regions for €179 (~$220). Availability details for none of the smartphones have been revealed yet.

Pricing: ZTE Blade V9 has been issued a price-tag of EUR 179 (roughly Rs. 14,300) and the Blade V9 Vita is priced at EUR 269 (roughly Rs. 21,400). The ZTE Tempo Go has also been priced at $79.99 (roughly Rs 5,200).

The Tempo Go is sold unlocked for GSM/UMTS/LTE networks and is available online at ZTE USA’s website for the above-mentioned price.
