Nexus 4 And Nexus 7 Are Getting Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA Update In India

As Google’s two Nexus devices in India are started receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop update over the air. Google Nexus 5 and Android One smartphones in the country have already been updated to Android 5.1 earlier this month, and now, Google pushed the update for older Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2012) users as well.

The Android 5.1 OTA update weighs 174.5MB for Nexus 4 and 110.6MB for Nexus 7, and it doesn’t got any official changelog from Google, but only notes that the update “improves performance and stability, bug fixes.”

Additionally, the update evidently improves RAM management, fixes frequent app crashes, and also brings an enhanced ART (Android Run Time), which make apps open quicker than before.

As far as this update will roll out gradually, and you should be notified when the update is ready. Or else you can manually make it a lot easier, go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. Found it, download and install Android 5.1 Lollipop on your Nexus 4 or Nexus 7 devices manually.
