Meet 17-Inch Dell Inspiron Laptop: Launches The World’s First 2-in-1Hardware Into The Market

Dell updates its Inspiron line with first of its kind with 17-inch 2-in-1 notebook range. It’s the world’s largest convertible laptop of its size, Dell’s new Inspiron laptops are any indication, there’s still a market for desktop replacement notebooks. Introduced at ComputerX in Taiwan, the Inspiron 7000 line, now includes a 17-inch behemoth that Dell claims is the world’s first 2-in-1 laptop of such kind.

The same company also updated its 11-inch, 13-inch and 15-inch Inspiron 2-in1 models, as well as 15″ and 17″ Inspiron 5000 conventional notebooks. The new ones will be available on Dell’s official website starting June 2nd, with Inspiron 5000 notebooks going on sale later this year.

Although every laptop maker offers 2-in-1 designs, laptops with hinges that allow their screens to be rotated 360 degrees so they can be transformed to function as a tablet. But they’ve been limited to smaller 11″ or 13″ ultraportables; heavy 17-inch models aren’t as mobile and so haven’t received the -in-1 treatment.

Announced Inspiron 7000 2-in-1, though. Dell intends to demonstrate that bigger screens can be flipped over, too. Along side its 13″ and 15-inch siblings, the 7000’s screen has a Full HD resolution of 1080p, and an infrared camera allows users to log in to Windows via the Hello feature just by tapping at the camera.

Under-the-hood, the Inspiron 7000 packs a sixth-gen Intel Core processors. Includes connectivity option for USB Type-C, for which Dell sells an optional adapter that can connect to devices via HDMI, Ethernet, and USB 3.0. The USB-C port is also compatible with Dell’s external battery package, which utterly adds six more hours of juice for the smaller models and five hours for the 17-incher.


Refreshed now! The upgraded version of Inspiron 5000 2-in-1 series includes most of the same features as the 7000, though is limited to 13-inch and 15″ sizes. The 5000s start at $529, compared to the $749 staring price of the Inspiron 7000 series. There’s also a new 11-inch Inspiron 3000 2-in-1 that starts at a very budget price $249.
