Apple Launches Special Edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus, Order Now

Apple has today announced iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition, the new generation of iPhone in a stunning new red back and black front.

Before we go and check for the brand new red iPhone 8 family availability, we have to learn about its specifications and design. The three products Apple launched last year were iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, which have now been on sale for a good few months. And, Apple has its own history of offering some of its products in a (PRODUCT)RED in color configuration.

As with the iPhone 7 models announced in new red color variants arrive in March of 2017. Unlike last year though, (PRODUCT)RED edition iPhone 8 and 8 Plus has been launched with shiny and vibrant red finish on the glass back with red aluminum shell frame, a silver Apple logo in center on the back, and finally, all-back front bezels.

Expectations of a new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus color were piqued over the weekend when an internal Virgin Mobile memo leak suggested the phones would be added to inventory systems on April 9th.

Apple has been a RED supporter for years now and continues to back the campaign to support AIDS and HIV programs around the globe. With a portion of sales going towards the initiative the (PRODUCT)RED devices are much more than just a new color option for people to choose from at the point of purchase.

Apple discontinued the red edition variants of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in the spring last year. This special color was made available until the iPhone 8 and iPhone X debuted in the fall. That is because, there was a lot of criticism with the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 design, primarily, Apple opted to go with a white bezel finish and silver Home button. But this year, the Cupertino-based company has gone for back bezels and red chassis, with a silver Apple crown on the rear, which otherwise, honestly looks much better.

“This special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone features a stunning red and black color combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing. “iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus improve on everything we love about iPhone, including Retina HD displays that are more beautiful than ever, the most powerful and smartest chip ever in a smartphone with the A11 Bionic and more advanced cameras for unbelievable photos and videos. We are proud to support (RED) with this bold new iPhone and hope customers think it is as special as we do.”

The newly launched (PRODUCT)RED iPhones are essentially the same inside. Comes with the same hardware configurations available bar that color including that impressive A11 Bionic CPU beating at its heart. If you already own an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus in one of the existing colors then you are certainly not missing out. Unless of course, you have an ongoing love for all things bright RED!

The Product(RED) iPhone 8 and 8 Plus join the existing space gray, silver, and gold models in offer. Apple is taking preorders for the new phones starting April 10 after 5:30am Pacific Time and will start shipping them on Friday, April 13 in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and the UK.

The new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available in countries like Brazil, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and more later in April, with Chile, Colombia, India, Israel, Turkey, and more countries following in May.

Pricing remains the same, beginning at $699 for a 64GB iPhone 8 and $799 for an iPhone 8 Plus. Alongside red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, Apple has also introduced special (PRODUCT)RED edition Leather Folio Case for iPhone X, rather than launching a new Red iPhone X, which will be available in stores starting Tuesday, 10th of April 2018.
