Samsung Announces iPhone X’s A11 CPU-Like Exynos 9810 SoC For Galaxy S9

Samsung has announced its latest smartphone CPU, the Exynos 9810, which is expected to be the powerhouse behind the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Originally, the Samsung’s new chip is built on a second-generation 10-nanometer (nm) FinFET process, will let Samsung copy the iPhone X’s A11 Bionic features.

Exynos 9810 introduces sophisticated features to enhance user experiences with neural network-based deep learning and stronger security on the most advanced mobile devices. This cutting-edge technology allows the processor to accurately recognize people or items in photos for fast image searching or categorization, or through depth sensing, scan a user’s face in 3D for hybrid face detection.

With an official announcement expected during the next few weeks, we shouldn’t have to wait too long until we see the new benefits of this improved chip being demonstrated on a stage somewhere.

Samsung will continue its tradition of splitting Galaxy smartphones between Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets and, by the way, Qualcomm’s latest SD845 SoC cannot handle 120fps 4K UHD video recording. And who will be getting Snapdragon 845-equipped Galaxy S9 smartphones? Of course, the US. The rest of the world will receive the new Exynos 9810-powered models.
