Previously it was said that Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system to directly rollout to Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but it hasn’t happened that way, rather the official Android 7.0 Nougat is now available to download and install on the devices. Here’s everything we consider thus far.
Started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for both Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices. Before it hits the devices, Samsung had began Nougat Beta testing on those devices in November 2016. Now that the final version of Android Nougat update rolling out for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge officially.
Users on Android Nougat beta will be the first ones to receive the update which is 215MB in size and will get the update before it is rolled out to general public’s devices. While the same Nougat update also includes the January 2017 security patch too.
Samsung is giving first bids to people on the beta program, who can get the full updated OS. If you have an S7 or S7 Edge, check your settings by heading to Settings app for a new Software Update. It not found, keep on checking over these next few days.
It’s important to note that the update is Android 7.0 and not 7.1.1 Nougat, but most recent security patch is added, according to sources. With the new version of Android comes many new features, like bundled notifications, direct replies, and, most importantly, new emojis.
The release notes and changelog for this update details several UX and performance fixes, including improvements to notifications, multi-window mode, always-on display, and to system upgrade enhancements and app installation process.
