Samsung To Launch Galaxy S8 In India On April 19, Priced At Rs 57000

Samsung has scheduled Galaxy S8/S8+ launch event with Exynos processor on April 19 and the phones are expected to go on sale starting April 21 in line with the global shipping date.

According to the Samsung Mobile India, the smartphone S8 will retail for a price of $270 which is approximately Rs 46,000, the Indian edition of the device which will come with an Exynos processor may retail somewhere between Rs 46, 000 to Rs. 50,000.

Samsung has just sent out invitations for the Galaxy S8 India launch event, followed by the removal of the tweet and posted a new one without an exact time frame. However, th Samsung Facebook post with the release is still live. It might also be removed soon.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ are ongoing and in the US, it will set you back for $840 – that’s around Rs 54,000. This means the Exynos-fitted Indian variant will range somewhere between Rs 55,000 to Rs 60,000.

This makes both the Samsung flagship smartphones much cheaper than the recently available Google Pixel and the Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Additionally, the phones are expected to come with Samsung’s own Bixby digital assistant and Bluetooth 5 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

In terms of Galaxy S8 specifications, the smaller 5.8-inch smartphone will come with a QuadHD Infinity display with 570ppi along with 4GB of RAM. The S8 will have an internal storage of 64GB with a dedicated microSD support up to 256GB. Battery package you will get with the S8 purchase of 3000mAh capacity, will run Android Nougat. In terms of optics, the S8 will sport a 12MP rear camera and a 8-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter.

Samsung Galaxy S8+

The larger variant of S8, the Galaxy S8+ has a 6.2-inch OLED display with 529ppi support. The S8+ will come with a higher battery capacity of 3500mAh unit due to bigger display resolution. Other features of the S8+ are same as the S8. Both will come in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Maple Gold colors.
