Reports: Dual-Lens Camera Only Exclusive For Galaxy S8 Plus, Not For Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are the two most popular smartphone and of course revenue generating handsets available in the market right now, but it seems like the company is looking to introduce a 2017 flagship with improved camera, screen and hardware aesthetics as well. Rumors have already surfaced in the past till date and today’s prototype shows the Galaxy S8’s physical Home button. Here are the details.

According to this latest report, Samsung is said to have finalized the actual design of Galaxy S8 and a prototype of the upcoming device has also been shared with company’s executives. If the above place design is to become accurate, then, this will be the first device in Galaxy S series coming without the trademark Home button that has been identical with Samsung phones.

Prototype of Galaxy S8 also hints at the fingerprint sensor that has been moved somewhat to back but it does not show it there. It has been speculated that Samsung will use a dual-lens rear camera system on Galaxy S8, but unfortunately, the report suggests that it will only integrate that module for Galaxy S8 Plus. The restriction of using dual camera setup only to Galaxy S8 Plus is apparently due to cost factor.

Reports also suggests that the standard Galaxy S8 variant will feature a 5.7-inch display and the S8 Plus model with 6.2-inch screen. As per the leakster @evleaks had also stated the possibility of two variants of Galaxy S8 are in the race to launch in September 2017.

Update x1: It seems like we have our first official look at Samsung Galaxy S8.
