Samsung Launching Tizen-Based Smartphone “Z1” In India This Month

Plans regarding the launch of Samsung’s new Tizen-powered smartphone in India this December comes to the final stage. Dubbed Z1, the device will reportedly be launched at a press conference on December 10. Priced under $100 (INR6,000) respectively.

As per the price, it is going the same path how Google gone with its Android One handsets, and the Tizen-based smartphone aka Z1 will be a budget phone with features including 1.2GHz processor, 4-inch (800×480 pixels) display, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage which can in further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The Z1 smartphone also packs a 3.2MP primary camera and it’s coming with a dual-SIM functionality, and integrated with FM Radio entertainment.

Samsung Z was first rumored as the South Korean giant’s first Tizen powered smartphone, which was scrapped just a few days before its scheduled launch in Russia in July. Samsung at that time speak – it wanted to further enhance the ecosystem behind Tizen. Finally, it now comes to live in just few weeks after.

Tizen is Samsung and Intel’s co-developed operating system, and is apparently a part of Samsung’s complete interest and efforts to reduce its dependency on Android which is Google’s own OS platform.
