LastPass is one of the best password manager has today released a new two-factor Authenticator app, which brings with it support for LastPass account and other applications.
Two-factor authentication is however a growing increasingly important in the world filled with high-profile hacks. LastPass has now taken it very seriously and made a new app to manage all your 2FA-enabled accounts. LastPass Authentication also makes your secret Bank account even more safe.
Using two-factor LastPass Autenticator app, you can be sure that no one will gain access to your personal accounts, except for you. Equipped with the Lastpass service, the way the authentication works is pretty simple. The app simply works much like its alternative authentication app, Authy does. When logging into LasPass, the service will send out a unique code, which will then be used during the sign-in process. Where the code plays a big role, only sent to you, via mobile phone or other form factor, meaning only those with this code will gain access, literally.
You can even use LastPass Authenticator wherever Google Authenticator is supported. You can simply scan the QR code with Lastpass Authenticator instead to store your tokens in the app itself. Obviously, you can also secure your LastPass vault itself with two-factor authentication as well.
Naturally, you will need to log into one of your 2FA-enabled services, from where you can open the app to copy the code, or you can receive a push notification to eventually enter the code with one tap. Quickly launching the LastPass Authenticator and tapping on it, users can allow the login request or else, can ask the app to generate 6-digit, 60 seconds codes or receive it via SMS text message.
LastPass Authenticator supports Android Wear, allowing you to get through the verification process seamlessly. Supports Facebook, Dropbox, Evernote, WordPress and other platforms.
