Today at IFA 2015 Live, ASUS has officially revealed all the details of the ZenWatch 2 smartwatch, which actually was first unveiled at ComputerX earlier this year. With all the details of the wearable, including specs, price and availability, we here got everything to share.
First and foremost speaking about ZenWatch 2 design, which isn’t different from its predecessor. Shows up that is more Apple Watch-like than Motorola Moto 360. The ZenWatch 2 features a physical button on its side, and comes in two sizes. You can choose the bigger 49mm variant with a 22mm strap or the smaller 45mm variant with a thinner 18mm strap.
Features and Specs
The Asus ZenWatch 2 features a 1.63-inch AMOLED display with a resolutin of 320×320 pixels round screen. It also packa Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, paired with 512MB of RAM, and 4GB ROM. It has IP67 certification that makes it resistant to dust and water. Connectivity options include WiFi, which evidently means that you can connect to your phone directly as long as both are on the same Wireless network. On the software front, the ZenWatch 2 runs on Android Wear, which was recently a few days ago confirmed it is compatible with iPhone. The bigger variant is backed by 400mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 2.5 days on “ambient mode,” whereas the smaller one comes with a 300mAh capcity – good for up to two days life.
Available to buy ZenWatch 2 in select market from October. Priced at around $170 (Rs 11,260 approximately) and $190 (Rs 12,580) for the smaller smartwatch, respectively. Asus says the ZenWatch 2 will be available in countries where the first-generation ZenWatch is already on sale. In India?
