Motorola at this years IFA keynote in Berlin took the wraps off the all-new Moto 360 (2nd Gen) smartwatch, which took three months for the Lenovo-owned company to send out invites for an event in New Delhi on December 1, where it is all but expected to launch the circular-chaped Android Wear hardware. While the star of the event has not been explicitly mentioned in the teaser, or there’s not hints for us to guess that the new Moto 360 is landing in India next month.
The invite comes with a tagline – “Focus and Prioritize,” where the alphabet ‘O’ in both the words is represented by the Moto 360’s watchface. The image of a circular watchface in the middle as well the #MotoTimeHack hashtag at the bootom are enough to give an idea that the Moto maker would be launching a wrist-waerable at the conference, and no points for apparent that it would be the second-generation Moto 360 watch, which was officially introduced back in September.
Smartwatch, which we’re speaking about is the successor to the original Moto 360 wearable of 2014 and was announced in two different sizes and allotted for men and women specifically. With two on scene there’s another edition – called new Moto 360 Sport.
The Moto 360 watch for men comes in 42mm with 1.56-inch (360×230 pixels) with 233ppi and 46mm screen sizes 1.37-inch (360×225 pixels) display with roughly 263ppi which comes with a choice of either a 20mm and 22mm watch bands respectively. Both the displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. New gadgets are more compact with minimalistic bezels and are backed by a 300mAh battery and 400mAh unit on the later variant, which are indeed 11.5mm tall like the last year’s Android Wear-powered Moto 360 smartwatch.
Other specifications include sensors like Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, and Gyroscope, a heart rate sensor, and IP67 dust and water resistance. While the Sport edition features a rbber body with built-in GPS, heart rate sensor, and an AnyLight Display – legible under bright sunlight.
Currently no information on what price tag the wearable device. In U.S., the smartwatch wearables cost varies from $299.99 to $429.99, depending on configuration. In India it may go like this roughly around Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 29,000?
