Google is now rolling out a new flavor of Android to the first wave of its Nexus devices. With the latest download and install of Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system, users will be getting some of the most useful new features to their compatible phones. Best features hiding in Android Nougat update are disclosed now and we are sharing those here.
If you have a Nexus device, you can grab the Android 7.0 Nougat update right now. Many of the biggest improvements includes, longer battery life, better security updates and VR-ready features. This isn’t it but there’s still plenty of other new inclusions to get excited about.
With more than 250 new features, some of them are under-the-hood changes that improve overall performance and security, like file-based encryption and direct boot, while the rest will be more immediately noticeable. New tricks baked into Android Nougat update that you’ll want to try out as soon as you upgrade. Here are some we have found to be the most useful thus far.
Google is giving Android fans 72 new emoji options, including support for multiple skin tones, redesigned people icons, new foods like avocado and bacon etc. Many of the characters have a more human-like appearance in Nougat, which is a welcome change from the blob-like shape of previous versions of Android emojis. From the new emoji list and data-saving superpowers to more customization features than ever before. There are also are 14 new “animals and nature” emoji and 12 new “activities” emoji.
One of another best and biggest additions to Android, Google is finally bringing the ability to view more than one app on-screen simultaneously. At once in a new split-screen multitasking view. Tap the overview button and drag the app you want to use to the top of the screen, then choose a second app to run beneath it. While the windows are also resizable too. You will be able to run two apps in split screen mode, making it easier to do things like read documents, emails and edit files system at the same time without having to switch between apps.

Notifications on the latest version of Android are getting an overhaul. The update gives them a cleaner, sleeker look that makes alerts a lot easier to read at a glance. You can reply directly to notifications without switch apps. Use this feature to reply to emails, texts and alerts from other apps. Plus, there’s still another way to customize notifications directly from the lock screen.
Pressing and holding on a notification will pull up the option to either show notifications silently or block all of them from a particular application. Third choice resides, which is selected by default, allows you to have notifications come through generally with a sound and an alert displayed on the lock screen.
Easier App Switching
In the new Android Nougat version 7.0, you will be able to jump between the two apps that used most recently by double tapping the recent apps button. It’s a shortcut that eliminates the need to navigate back to the home screen, making it very easy to get stuff done.
Android 7.0 Nougat comes with a new Data Saver mode that helps you reduce the amount of data your apps are squeezing in the background. Additionally, you can even add the option to your notifications shade so that you can easily toggle it on from Quick Settings.
With the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google added a feature called Doze that kicks your phone into a sleep mode when it’s lying still on your desk or nightstand. Now, Doze will also work when your phone is moving around in your pocket or handbag, which will hopefully add more battery life to your Android phone.
You will now be able o reply to notifications and respond to it directly from the tray in Android 7.0 Nougat. Tapping the “Reply” button will expand the notification to include a text box, slightly quicker than prompting your phone to open the app fist.
Google quickly added a shortcut to its Settings shortcut with Android 7.0 update. Dragging down from the top of the screen pulls up a row of about five quick settings options of your choice called the Quick Settings Bar. Simply by tapping on the arrow alongside this bar to expand it and show the complete list of available Quick Settings.
Quick Switch is another inclusion that is added to the top 10 of best new features inside Android 7.0 Nougat update. It allows you to quickly move between your two most-recently used apps. Double tap the overview button to toggle between the two.
