Apple Releases tvOS 9.0.1 Update For Apple TV 4

This is the first public update, tvOS 9.0.1 released for the new Apple TV 4 after it went on sale. For Apple TV OS 9.0.1 is a minor update that likely includes bug fixes and performance upgrades to address issues discovered since the launch of tvOS. It comes less than a week after Apple seeded first tvOS 9.1 beta to developers.

Here’s what is new in this update:

Apple however haven’t released any official changelog for tvOS 9.0.1, but it’s apparent that the release for Apple TV contains general performance improvements and minor fixes to address teething issues found in intial tvOS 9.0 firmware.

To update your new fourth-generation Apple TV to the latest firmware version via OTA (Over-The-Air) update mechanism, for that, simply head to:  Settings> System > MAINTENANCE: Software Updates > Update Software.

Alternative way already there, you can download tvOS 9.0.1 IPSW file directly from below and then update to it using iTunes on your Mac computer. To update Apple TV using iTunes, you will need a USB-C to USB-A cable in order to connect your Apple TV to a Mac or Windows computer.

Once completed the updating process, head to Settings > General > About and make sure the tvOS version 9.0.1 (13T402) showing. If you see this version and build number, it means you have successfully updated to the latest tvOS firmware.
