Download: Android 7.1.1 Developer Preview 2 Released

Google has finally made available to download Android 7.1.1 developer preview 2 for compatible Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and more devices. This pre-release seed of Nougat developer preview comes one month after the release of initial preview build which Google released for eligible Android devices.

Remind you that Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL come running final version of Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, but should note that the Android version which ships with Pixel is different than the one being tested right now for all other devices.

For the unknown Android fragmentation, Google has already decided to make Android 7.1 features, like Google Assistant only exclusive to Pixel phones, hence the need for this different build of 7.1 Nougat for all other Android devices.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat for all other devices includes features such as support for Daydream VR, Apple’s 3D Touch Quick Actions-like feature called app shortcuts that works with swipe gestures, enhanced live wallpapers, and much more.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat DP2 is available for Nexus 6P, 5X, 9, Pixel C, Nexus Player and General Mobile 4G.

The best way of going about to download and install Android 7.1.1 Nougat (developer preview 2 build) is to do it via Google’s official Android Beta Program. Here where you can find full step-by-step instructions on how to go about doing that on your compatible Nexus or non-Nexus device. Alternatively, you can also download factory images from Android Developers site and then flash it on your device.

After all, it’s going to be the last developer preview release for Android 7.1.1 Nougat, Google will be rolling out final version sometime next month before the end of the year to both AOSP and OEM ecosystem.
